The auxiliary belt idler pulley keeps the belt tension steady so your alternator, air-con and water pump all turn at the right speed. When it wears you get squeal on cold starts, or a chirp that rises with revs. This is the genuine Kia unit, part number 2528607001, made for the Ceed Sportswagon from 2018 onward. It bolts to the original bracket with no modification.
