Three rows under a flat roof
Every EV9 seats seven, on all four derivatives, and the GT-Line S can be ordered as a six-seater instead — swivelling second-row chairs with a sliding console table between them.
Air runs 19-inch alloys. GT-Line adds GT-Line exterior styling and LED headlights with an adaptive driving beam. GT-Line S goes to 21-inch wheels and a sunroof that tilts and slides. An empty Air weighs 2,492kg, and the car looks every kilo of it.
One battery, three answers
The same 99.8kWh pack goes in every EV9. What changes is what it is driving. The rear-wheel-drive Air is rated at 349 miles combined and 480 around town. Add the second axle and it comes down: 316 miles in the GT-Line, 313 in the GT-Line S on its 21-inch wheels.
Charging runs at 800 volts. On a charger delivering 210kW, 10 to 80 per cent takes 24 minutes, and Kia quotes 154 miles put back in fifteen. On a 50kW rapid the same 10 to 80 per cent is 1 hour 23 minutes, and at home on a 48-amp supply 10 to 100 per cent is 9 hours 5 minutes. A heat pump is standard on every trim. Vehicle-to-Load is fitted to every EV9; GT-Line S adds the adapter for it.
What is under the floor
The pack is lithium-ion polymer: 456 cells, a nominal 552 volts, 181 amp-hours, and 567kg before it is bolted into anything. It runs at 800 volts, which is why Kia asks for an 800-volt charger rated at 210kW or more before it will quote the 24-minute figure. An empty Air weighs 2,492kg; the all-wheel-drive cars are 2,648kg as seven-seaters.

Built around the third row
Seven seats, and a boot behind all of them
There are 333 litres behind the third row, 828 litres with it folded and 2,318 with the second row down as well — 2,393 in the six-seat cars. Under the bonnet there is another 90 litres on the rear-drive Air, or 52 on the all-wheel-drive cars, which is where the charging cables end up.
Two 12.3-inch screens and a panel for the climate
Every EV9 gets a 12.3-inch driver display, a 12.3-inch navigation touchscreen and a 5.3-inch climate panel between them. Kia Connect services are included for seven years. GT-Line S adds a head-up display and a 14-speaker Meridian system.
The assistance is standard, not an upgrade
The Air already has a 360-degree Surround View Monitor, heated and ventilated front seats, Highway Driving Assist 2 with hands-on detection, Lane Following Assist 2 and blind-spot collision avoidance with rear cross-traffic alert. GT-Line adds an electric tilt and telescopic steering column, a memory driver’s seat, Premium Relaxation front seats and Ergo Motion for the driver.
Three trims, four cars on the price list
Air, GT-Line and GT-Line S. The GT-Line S is sold as a seven-seater or a six-seater, which is where the fourth line on the price list comes from.
All four share the 99.8kWh battery and a single-speed automatic. The Air is rear-wheel drive and 200bhp; both GT-Line cars are all-wheel drive and 378bhp. Top speed is 114mph in the Air and 124mph in the all-wheel-drive cars, and braked towing goes from 900kg to 2,500kg between them.
Air
Twin 12.3-inch screens with a 5.3-inch climate panel, 360-degree Surround View Monitor, heated and ventilated front seats, Highway Driving Assist 2 with hands-on detection, Lane Following Assist 2, blind-spot collision avoidance with rear cross-traffic alert. Seven seats. 900kg braked towing.
GT-Line
Adds GT-Line exterior styling, LED headlights with an adaptive driving beam, an electric tilt and telescopic steering column, a memory driver’s seat, Premium Relaxation front seats and Ergo Motion for the driver. Braked towing goes to 2,500kg.
GT-Line S
Adds a tilting and sliding sunroof, a 14-speaker Meridian premium sound system, a head-up display and the Vehicle-to-Load adapter. The six-seat car swaps the middle bench for swivelling chairs and a sliding console table.

Kia’s guide notes that the Expensive Car Supplement applies to any car with a P11D over £40,000 — every EV9 is over it on list price alone. The Government’s Electric Car Grant caps at a £37,000 recommended retail price, so it does not apply to any EV9, and no grant price is shown for that reason. The EV9 GT is a different car
GT-Line and GT-Line S are trims of the EV9. The GT is not. It is a separate model with its own price list, and it starts at £82,845.
Same 99.8kWh battery, same 800-volt charging, same 24 minutes from 10 to 80 per cent. Then it changes almost everything else: 501bhp and 740Nm through both axles, 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds, 136mph, and 316 miles on the WLTP combined cycle.
Underneath
Electronic Controlled Suspension with Road Preview, an electronic limited-slip differential, self-levelling rear suspension and a Terrain Mode for mud, snow and sand. MacPherson multi-link at the front, a five-arm multi-link at the back, and 285/45R21 tyres on 21-inch GT alloys with aero covers.
Inside and out
A digital grille with an animated welcome light, neon green brake calipers, GT semi-bucket Alcantara seats, a GT steering wheel with a GT button, Virtual Gear Shift, and a cluster theme with a performance timer that records 0-62mph, 200 metres and 400 metres. A fixed sunroof sits over the second row with an electric blind.
